Here are a few fun things to do this weekend near Coupeville:

On Saturday, you can tour the historic Jacob Ebey House and Blockhouse from 1-4 on the scenic hill above Ebey’s Prairie in Coupeville. Hear stories of pioneer life. They’re having barbecued “Prairie Dogs” too with sales benefiting the Island County Historical Museum. Free, unless you’d like to eat (I’m assuming they’re hot dogs since I’ve never seen a prairie dog on Whidbey!), 678-3310 for more info.

Whidbey Island Old Time Bluegrass Pickers Festival at Meerkerk Gardens in Greenbank, on Saturday, from 10:30 until noon. Tickets are $10. If you haven’t been to a Meerkerk event yet, you need to. The garden is lovely.

In Oak Harbor, they’re having the 3rd Annual Driftwood Days event at Windjammer Park (city beach park/windmill), from 11:30 with judging beginning at 1:30. Trophies will be awarded. It’s free, but you have to register.

And in Langley, it’s Children’s Day from 10-2 at S. Whidbey Community Park. That’s off Maxwelton Road, where the cool wooden castle park play structure is located.

Farmer’s Markets, Saturday in Coupeville from 10-2, free parking & dog friendly. On Sunday, Greenbank hosts theirs from 11-3. They’ll also have a “Wag and Walk” dog party on Sunday too!

We’ll have Open House hours from 1-4 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Stop by for a tour and you could win a gift certificate to Toby’s, The Oystercatcher, and more. Enjoy the beautiful weather!!
